And Elizabeth appeared from behind Rollie, holding what looked to Rollie like a lantern; a rather old and delapidated lantern to be precise. Elizabeth presented it to Jack unlit, and he took it reverently. He then held it in one hand, while he rummaged around in his pockets with the other.
"Stand back mate, wouldn't want to singe that lovely hair..." Jack instructed Rollie, as he found what he had been searching for in his clothes at last.
He had produced the stub of a little brownish-yellow candle, which he placed inside the lantern, and then he proceeded to rub the wick of the candle-nub with his thumb and index finger. He lifted the still-unlit lantern above his head, and cried "I've got a ways to travel, and fair amount of guests. Don't make me grovel, to show these lads my best." And as if in response to this, the lantern in Jack's hand, burst forth the most blindingly white light that seemed too magical to be real. Rollie rubbed his eyes, and stared closely at the lantern
, sure that he would be able to figure out it's secret if he just looked closely enough.
